Team Manager

Role Responsibility

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Team Manager in Disabled Children’s Team East. The team is based at Green Banks Multi-Agency Service Hub in Margate and supports disabled children up to the age of 18.    

Our team consists of Senior Practitioners, Social Workers and Social Work Assistants who work closely with our colleagues in Disabled Young People's Teams, a range of teams within the Kent County Council and other key agencies, such as Health, Education and the voluntary sector.

You will be highly motivated and demonstrate excellent social work knowledge, skills and values to deliver the highest quality service to disabled children, their families and carers. Experience in Children’s Services is essential, including child protection and children in care. You will need to demonstrate excellent managerial skills and be able to support and challenge professionals effectively.

You will be a role model for good practice and champion for your area of expertise, you will set performance expectations, managing and mentoring a team of Senior Practitioners, Social Workers and Social Work Assistants.

You will need to be Social Work England registered with a Social Work degree. You should have extensive post qualification experience, including experience of supervising staff and in-depth knowledge of legislation, policy and practice relating to Children including detailed working knowledge of Children’s safeguarding processes.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring service and registration as a qualified Social Worker with Social Work England.

This role is subject to holding a Full UK Driving Licence – The Council is committed to making reasonable adjustments so whilst this job requires the jobholder to drive your application will still be considered if you are unable to drive due to a disability.

This post is considered by Kent County Council to be a customer-facing position.  The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
