Team Manager - Sevenoaks North, Tonbridge & Malling Children’s Social Work Team
Role Responsibility
We offer a competitive basic salary between £52,716 and £60,246 dependent on your experience (plus £3,000 per annum retention scheme & £2000 car allowance). There is therefore the potential to earn up to £65,246 per year. In addition, there is a £4,000 Golden Hello (subject to eligibility) & up to £8,000 relocation package (subject to eligibility) and excellent LA pension scheme.

Role Responsibility
An exciting personal opportunity has arisen for a Team Manager in Dover. You will be joining a management team that is committed to providing high quality social work services to children, young people and their families, working closely with our multi agency partners.
As Team Manager, you will be leading a team of up to 6 Social Workers and a Social Work Assistant supported by a Business Support team. You will play a key role within the management team, providing a high standard of social work to our children, young people, and their families. You will be able to evidence extensive knowledge of child protection, and legal processes, including Public Law Outline and pre-proceedings.
You will be required to provide a high-quality level of supervision, evidencing management oversight for the children open to your team, be competent in quality assuring the work of your team along with creating and maintaining good team atmosphere and morale, and therefore you should have some experience of supervising staff. You will be responsible for chairing strategy discussions, permanency planning meetings and other professional meetings to continue towards key decision making for children in need of our service and protection.
You will need to lead, manage and motivate a team to embed a positive performance culture. Above all, you’ll be focused on helping children and families to change their lives for the better.
About you
You will need to be Social Work England registered with a Social Work degree (Dip SW or equivalent social work degree). You should have extensive post qualification experience, including experience of supervising staff and in depth knowledge of legislation, policy and practice relating to Children as well as have a good understanding of social work theories and how they are applied to the Kent Practice Framework.
You will have either management experience or specialist and extensive knowledge of this particular service user group. This experience should include; children’s safeguarding processes, working with children in care including LAC procedures, extensive experience in care proceedings & adoption, supervision, budget management, and joint working with partners in the statutory, private and voluntary sectors.
You should be confident in your ability to lead and develop a team. You will have the expertise needed to contribute to practice and policy development. You will need to demonstrate excellent managerial skills and be able to support and challenge professionals effectively.
