Team Coordinator
Role Responsibility
Step Up. Lead a Team. Change lives
We’re recruiting a Team Coordinator to help keep our Community Day Services running smoothly, supporting adults with learning disabilities to live more independent, fulfilled lives. You’ll be a reassuring point of support for colleagues, help coordinate great days for the people we support, and make sure our service stays safe, responsive and person-centred—both in our buildings and out in the community.
You’ll be joining a welcoming, supportive team that works closely together, shares knowledge, and supports each other—because great outcomes start with a strong team culture.
You’ll do well in this role if you bring:
- A person-centred mindset - championing rights, choice and inclusion
- Empathy and compassion – supporting people with dignity, respect and kindness
- Good communication – listening well and building positive relationships
- Organisation and initiative – keeping things on track and responding calmly to change
- A supportive leadership style – helping colleagues feel confident and keeping standards high
About the Role
You will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the service, including managing a team of staff, supporting colleagues throughout the county, assigning tasks, and ensuring the service is safe, well-led, and compliant with health and safety regulations, policies, and legislation. At the same time, you will deliver consistent, person-centred support.
You’ll also keep oversight of support plans, records and staff development, including coordinating training needs and helping to ensure trainer availability for in-house sessions (e.g. moving and handling). Whilst not essential, being able to drive our service vehicles occasionally would also be an advantage.
This is a customer-facing role, and you will be expected to demonstrate a good command of spoken English to meet the requirements of the Immigration Act (2016).
What we can offer you
- A comprehensive induction and continued training opportunities to support your ongoing development.
- Opportunities to build leadership/supervisory experience.
- Local government pension and a range of KCC employee benefits.
Additional Requirements
- This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
- UK right to work required (This role does not meet eligibility criteria for visa sponsorship)
- At interview you will meet a panel of people we support and will be asked to deliver a 10-minute presentation to them followed by 5-minutes Q&A, details will be shared if successful for interview.
- This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
