TPS Placement Officer
Role Responsibility
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Children’s Strategic Commissioning Unit within the Total Placement Service (TPS) for a Placement Officer for a six months full-time position (secondment or fixed term contract)
TPS manage all referrals for homes for Kent’s Children in Care and Care Leavers and work with and allocated workers and key stakeholders to secure these. TPS is a key element of the children’s services strategy to meet the authority’s sufficiency duty in ensuring that homes for these children, young people and adults provide stability, meet their needs and help them to achieve their aspirations. This is a real opportunity to be part of a service to support our most vulnerable children and young people.
The post is varied and interesting providing specialist advice/support on placements, resolving complex issues, managing liaison between key stakeholders. In order to be eligible for the post you will need to possess the following skills/experience:
- Highly motivated, excellent organisational, administration and communication skills
- Ability to meet strict deadlines and targets, prioritise and plan effectively
- Good negotiation skills and high level of interpersonal and communication skills at all levels.
- Have an excellent knowledge of IT systems; Excel, Word and Outlook
- Awareness of Data Protection and confidentiality issues.
The usual base location for this role is Sessions House, Maidstone, however as a result of Covid 19 all TPS staff are currently working from home. Upon appointment the successful candidate will work from home until such time the team returns to a KCC building. However, there may be times when staff will be expected to meet face to face or work from an office -e.g for team meetings, training etc.
