Role Responsibility
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Education and Young People's Service - Coordinated Admissions - Fair Access department.
About the team
We coordinate the admission processes for Primary (Year R), Junior (Year 3), and Secondary (Year 7) transfer. The team also coordinate and manage Kent’s Grammar School process the 11+. You will have the opportunity to work on all of these statutory functions and involved on wider projects to increase the knowledge base of parents, schools, and wider teams across KCC.
The team are currently operating a hybrid work model that includes a mix of being based out of Invicta House in Maidstone and working from home. Due to the demands of the job, including your induction period there will be times where working from the office is necessary so being able to get to Maidstone for a 9am start is a must.
You will work within our Systems Team under the County Coordinated Admissions Manager. You will be the first point of contact for parents, schools and other Local Authorities including managing and resolving complex queries and handling routine requests for information.
To undertake data entry, import and export into/from the admissions database, and to ensure appropriate data quality checks are made regularly and routinely.
Develop and provide training and assistance to Kent primary and secondary schools with regards to all stages of the coordinated admissions process, including ranking and online admissions.
Apply technical knowledge of GIS systems to provide distances and maps on request
Identify the need for improvements to work practices and implement changes to existing processes.
The role would be 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday, with no weekend work.
