System Support Officer
Role Responsibility
We are inviting applications for two 12 month fixed term contracts in the role of Systems Support Officer within the Strategic Commissioning division.
Working in the Commissioning Standards team under the Commissioning Standards Manager and with guidance from the Business Systems Officer, successful applicants will require an eye for detail and good interpersonal skills. You will be working both as part of a team and independently to assist colleagues in other parts of the Council to adopt and use a system for contract management. You should be at least competent in Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Outlook with some experience of systems or databases. Experience or some knowledge of Local Government and contracts would also be advantageous.
This role will feature regular engagement with people who may have no experience of understanding of the system you are assisting them to use, so the ability to get ideas across through practical demonstrations, emails and occasionally presentations will be necessary.
You will also need to structure and sense check data provided to you to ensure that information you load into the contract management system is accurate and arranged correctly. Sometimes you may be asked to carry out administration within the system which requires a careful and thoughtful approach to keep the system running well. Different users may raise different issues with you, so being able to prioritise work and know when to flag problems with a manager will be a must.
The primary location of the role is Sessions House, Maidstone, but would currently be entirely working from home with some office working in the future.
