Sustainable Business Grants & Compliance Officer

We’re looking for someone with a diligent interest in grant administration and compliance to join the Sustainable Business Team in an exciting opportunity to work on delivering grants to support businesses increase their environmental sustainability. Kent County Council leads on the implementation of the Kent Environment Strategy, which brings together partners across sectors to support economic growth while protecting and enhancing Kent’s natural and historic environment and supporting communities to be vibrant, healthy and resilient as Kent faces unprecedented growth and change over the coming decades.

We have a European Structural Investment Funds (ESIF) - funded project, Low Carbon Across the South and East 3 (LOCASE 3) which provides a consistent, accessible business support programme across multiple Local Enterprise Partnerships across the South and East, helping businesses to optimise the use of resources and adopt eco-innovative and low carbon solutions in ways that improve business performance in terms of resilience, profitability and competitiveness, at the same time contributing to the protection and preservation of the environment.

The Sustainable Business Project Officer will be responsible for day-to-day delivery and operation of the Low Carbon Across the South and East 3 (LoCASE 3) project, including grant administration, business engagement and output monitoring.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a strong background in successful project delivery to undertake this role and engage with businesses to ensure outputs, KPIs and targets are met through appropriate compliance measures. The successful candidate will have strong organisation and administrative skills, a keen attention to detail, will need to be an excellent communicator with a good understanding of customer care, and excellent computer skills.

Low Carbon across the South and East 3 is part financed by the European Regional Development Fund Programme 2014 to 2020. The Department for Communities and Local Government is the managing authority for the European Regional Development Fund Programme, which is one of the funds established by the European Commission to help local areas stimulate their economic development by investing in projects which will support local businesses and create jobs.
