Role Responsibility

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Jubilee House for you to join our team. Jubilee House is a purpose-built building, containing 7 flats. The flats enable adults with physical disabilities, learning disabilities and complex needs to live in their own homes within the local community with support. Jubilee House is situated at the top of Folkestone town, it is in a prime location to be able to access the local town, The Leas, and the seaside. Jubilee House is local to bus routes and local amenities.

You will be joining a team which provides person centred care and support to 4 individuals on a one to one basis. You will be supporting individuals to maintain their mobility and immediate environment to be as self-managing as possible, maintain and learn new skills and aspire to achieve identified goals and aspirations.

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with a “Can do, caring” approach to join our team. Our ethos is to support service users to be socially included in the local community, maintain their network of family and friends, to be empowered, to promote, encourage and maximise their independence, to respect their rights and encourage individuals to make informed choices and to fulfil their lives in the way that matters most to them.

You will require practical experience of working with adults who require support, being able to demonstrate your skills in supporting individuals to have their needs met, achieve their outcomes and ensure individuals are involved in all decision making and care planning. You will demonstrate excellent time management skills, record keeping skills, organisational skills, be able to lone work, support individuals to manage their finances/budget, their medication, access the community and all aspects of daily living.

You will have an awareness of the Care Act, Valuing People, Person Centred Planning, NHS and Community Care Act and Care Quality Commission.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

Interviews will be held in line with the Choosing with Care process and will either be held at Jubilee House or remotely dependent on the latest Government guidance. Interview dates to be confirmed.
