Support Officer - Kent Driver Education Team
Role Responsibility
Part time Support Officer – working Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (with occasional Fridays for team meetings)

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to support the Kent Driver Education Team in delivering ‘Driver Improvement Courses’ across Kent. You will play a vital part in the customer journey for clients attending the range of schemes that are offered by KCC.
As a Support Officer you will be administering client course bookings and payments for the various courses delivered by KCC. You will be involved in updating the national police system for client attendance data, creating purchase orders, processing invoices and dealing with client registers.
A professional telephone manner and an adaptable approach will be required as you will work closely as part of a team to ensure that a seamless booking service is provided between the hours of 07:45am to 17.00pm.
A confident user of the Microsoft Office Suite, you will also be expected to undertake relevant technical training for internal computer, finance and telephone systems.
You will possess excellent administration and interpersonal skills and have a background in dealing with the general public via telephone and online enquiries.
KCC now deliver courses both in venues and via the digital platform of Zoom. Part of your role will include assisting clients to access their course as well as offering to set up a test meeting for them.
To allow our course to be fully inclusive, we have several venues across Kent. You will be required to complete stock checks and other administration duties at the various course venues across Kent.
As we currently offer flexible working within the restrictions of our business service requirements, you may have the option of home working. However, there are specific requirements for this. You must be able to perform your daily tasks in a secure location where no other person can hear your call.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
