Strategic Manager Operations

Role Responsibility

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Libraries, Registration & Archives (LRA) for a Strategic Manager Specialist and Support Services.

 We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced manager who wants to manage our Library and Registration operational team. Across the county they deliver our front of house services from 99 libraries, 5 Registry offices, mobile libraries and the prison library service. This role ensures a consistent delivery, that our libraries are open and welcoming day to day, we complete all birth and death registrations in a timely fashion and that all couples at hundreds of venues across the county get the best civil ceremony on their special day possible.

This is a demanding, intensive but rewarding and visible role, with both budget and staff management for a diverse range of business-critical functions supporting the entire service including recruitment and development of our staff and ensuring our buildings are maintained to the best possible standard.

We are looking for an individual who can equally lead and work as part of a team with exceptional inter-personal skills and the ability to engage and work in partnership with staff, Kent County Council Members and external partners. 

The Strategic Manager for operations is also a member of the Libraries, Registration & Archives Senior Management Team which means they are actively involved with  leading in the strategic development of the service for the future and linking into other departments within KCC, representing the service corporately and with other partners.
