Stock and Development Librarian
Role Responsibility
Kent Libraries, Registration and Archives are looking for a professionally qualified Librarian to join our Stock & Specialist Services team, contributing to our stock offer of both physical and electronic collections across the county of Kent. This is a permanent full-time position.
Reporting to the Stock & Promotions Service Manager, you will be part of a team who is responsible for delivering high-quality library services through effective stock selection for all Kents 99 libraries and 5 mobile libraries.
As part of the role, you will be required to meet and continuously review customer need, make recommendations on stock usage, future collection development, provide staff training and assist with overall stock management across the County.
The successful candidate will have excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills, with the ability to work alone and as part of the team.
The role is hybrid, requiring you to split your time between working at a base allocated to you in one of our appropriately located libraries, plus homeworking and site visits to our buildings across the county.
This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
