Special Educational Needs Inclusion Funding (SENIF) Practitioner

Term Time Only – 39 Weeks per year
Do you want to help shape the future of Early Years Education? Do you have a passion for supporting early years children with special educational needs? If so, this role could be for you, we are looking for a SEN Inclusion Fund Practitioner to join our friendly and supportive team.
The SEN Inclusion Fund team are experienced Early Years professionals who work alongside Kent’s maintained, PVI pre-school settings and childminders modelling interventions to help secure better outcomes for Kent’s youngest children with identified additional needs. Our team support early intervention and inclusion, enabling children to make progress and flourish.
You will be able to model good practice, share strategies and support the settings to implement personalised plans and the recommendations from professionals.
You will work predominantly in the Dartford district but could be asked to travel and work in the wider North Kent Area on occasion.
This role is subject to a Full UK Driving License – The Council is committed to making reasonable adjustments so whilst this job requires the jobholder to drive your application will still be considered if you are unable to drive due to a disability.
You will have experience of working with children with differing and complex Special Educational Needs in Early Years settings, a thorough knowledge of child development, and the ability to implement the SEN Code of Practice and develop strategies to enable a setting to meet the educational needs of children with SEN.
You will need to be able to work with the settings in supporting children’s development to make progress towards their targets.
You will work with a variety of services from Education and Health to ensure that pre-school children with the highest levels of Special Educational needs have their needs met within mainstream settings.
You will work closely with the Early Years Specialist Teachers, Specialist Intervention Managers and Year R class teachers to deliver the special educational needs provision required, to ensure the children make appropriate educational progress through the SENIF Offer.
You will be educated to NVQ level 3 in Childcare or equivalent appropriate qualification (including at least GCSE Mathematics & English grade 4 to 9). Early Years SENCo training and relevant SENCo experience will need to be evidenced.
