Role Responsibility

Are you looking to join a friendly, creative, energetic dynamic and supportive team which promotes professional development and is proud of the high standard of service we provide?  Then we may be just what you are looking for.

We are looking for motivated Social Workers committed to working in an integrated team and ready to embrace new ways of working, to help further shape our services and make a difference every day.

You will be working with people over the age of 18 with a wide range of needs, managing a caseload requiring assessment, review, and on-going support to make a real difference in achieving improved outcomes and promoting independence.

Alongside many opportunities for training and development, you will receive the support you need to achieve this from skilled Senior Practitioners. Your good work will be recognised.

A Social Work qualification is required.  For internal applicants only, an Occupational Therapy or Nursing qualification will be considered eligible.

Occasionally you will be expected to work outside normal office hours and at weekends to optimise the support we offer and provide a responsive, seamless, and multi-disciplinary approach.

This post is predominantly based at Brook House, Whitstable but the post holder could be asked to work occasionally in Ashford to meet business need as necessary.  The ability to travel across a wide geographical area in a timely and flexible manner at various times of the day is essential. You should note that public transport is rarely a viable option as some rural areas of Kent often have limited public transport.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring service and registration as a qualified Social Worker with Social Work England.

Interviews will take place on Friday, 8 October 2021.
