A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced full time Social Worker post in the Dartford, Gravesend and Swanley Supporting Independence team.

We are looking for motivated, passionate professionals who are committed to working in an integrated team and are ready to embrace new ways of working in order to further shape our services.

You will be highly motivated and demonstrate excellent social work knowledge, skills and values to deliver the highest quality service to adults and their carers. You will have the potential to take on complex case work, demonstrate best practice in the team and support the individuals we work with to progress towards their independence and wellbeing goals.

Our team consists of Social Workers, Case Officers and Occupational Therapists and you will be required to work closely with our colleagues in the NHS, Mental Health and the voluntary sector.

You will hold a degree in Social Work (CQSW, DipSW or equivalent) be registered with Social Work England and have experience in Adult Social Care.

The ability to travel across a wide geographical area in a timely and flexible manner at various times of the day is essential. You should note that public transport is rarely a viable option as some rural areas of Kent often have limited public transport.

External Social Worker applicants are currently eligible for a £2000 “Golden Hello” after appointment, and an additional £3,000 annual retention payment subject to qualifying criteria.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore, has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring service and registration as a qualified Social Worker with Social Work England.
