As a Social Worker working with people over the age of 18 with a wide range of disabilities, you will manage a caseload requiring assessment, review and on-going support to make a real difference in achieving improved outcomes and leading to independent living for the service user.

Alongside opportunities for training and development, you will receive the support you need and recognition for your good work.

A Social Work qualification is required, however if your qualification is pending and you are due to receive this shortly, you may still apply. Newly qualified social workers will also be considered.

For internal applicants only a Social Work, Occupational Therapy or Nursing qualification will be considered eligible.

Occasionally you will be expected to work outside normal office hours and at weekends to optimise support to service users and provide a responsive, seamless and multi-disciplinary approach.

Our offer:

- Social Worker position at KR9 (£29,446 to £33,510 depending on experience) or KR10 (£33,678 to £39,613 depending on experience)

- Relocation packages up to a maximum of £8,000 

- Full induction and comprehensive professional learning and development

- Annual leave allowance of 27 to 30 days depending on grade and experience

- Golden Hello of £2,000 one-off payment on starting employment subject to meeting criteria

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring service and registration as a qualified Social Worker with Social Work England.

This post is predominantly based at St Peters House, Broadstairs.
