Payroll Assistant - Education Operational Team

Role Responsibility

Are you keen to progress in a Payroll environment? If you are, then this is the job for you.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to join a committed and flexible integrated HR and Payroll team who provide services to Kent County Council, School customers, NHS Trusts, external partners and organisations.

You will utilise your knowledge of relevant Payroll and Employment legislation to provide a complete service to support all aspects of the payroll lifecycle. This will involve inputting new starters, processing leavers and changes such as working hours, maternity and absence via different payroll systems including Oracle and ITrent. You will also be responsible for producing required information for the pension scheme administrators. With the support of a Customer Relationship Management system, you will have the tools to plan and organise your workload to enable you to meet agreed SLAs and payroll deadlines.

You will receive a detailed induction and training programme, a support buddy, regular one-to-one meetings with your supervisor and have an on-going development plan.

Who we are looking for?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Payroll Assistant with previous payroll experience to join our dynamic team. Working within a fast-paced environment, you will be a quick learner with the ability to manage your own workload to meet payroll deadlines.

To be considered for the Payroll Assistant position you must have:

  • At least 1 years’ experience and knowledge of working within a payroll function
  • Knowledge of relevant Payroll and Employment legislation
  • An understanding of statutory obligations
