Role Responsibility

We are looking for motivated, experienced professionals who are committed to working in an integrated team and ready to embrace new ways of working, to help further shape our services. 

As a Social Worker working with people over the age of 18 with a wide range of disabilities, you will manage a caseload requiring assessment, review and on-going support to make a real difference in achieving improved outcomes and leading to independent living for the service users.

Alongside opportunities for training and development, you will receive the support you need and recognition for your good work.

A Social Work qualification is required. For internal applicants only an Occupational Therapy or Nursing qualification will be considered eligible.

Occasionally you will be expected to work outside normal office hours and at weekends to optimise support to service users and provide a responsive, seamless and multi-disciplinary approach.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring service and registration as a qualified Social Worker with Social Work England.

This post is based at Thistley Hill, Dover.

Our offer

• Social Worker position at KR9-KR10 (£29,446 to £39,613 depending on experience)

• Annual leave allowance of 27 to 30 days
• Golden Hello of £2,000 one-off payment on starting employment subject to criteria.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
