Social Worker - Promoting and Supporting Independence

As a Social Worker within the Promoting and Supporting Independence team you will be working with people over the age of 18 with a wide range of disabilities, you will manage a caseload requiring assessment, review and on-going support to make a real difference in achieving improved outcomes and leading to independent living for the service user.

This post is within a team that works collaboratively with health and other partnership agencies and focuses on promoting a persons independence.

The ability to travel across a wide geographical area in a timely and flexible manner at various times of the day is essential. You should note that public transport is rarely a viable option as some rural areas of Kent often have limited public transport.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

We are increasingly accessible to the public outside of traditional office hours, as we move towards an 8 am to 8 pm, 7 days a week service to ensure service needs are met.

The base for this post is advertised for Maidstone however please note that we are supportive of flexible working patterns.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring service and registration as a qualified Social Worker with Social Work England.

If you are an internal applicant already employed by KCC with a nursing or O/T qualification  and registration you are eligible to apply for this position.
