Social Worker - Adoption
Role Responsibility
Adoption Partnership south east have an exciting opportunity within our Early Permanence team, we are looking to recruit an experienced Social Worker, to our stable and experienced team.
The role will focus on recruiting and assessing Early permanence carers to be able to foster and then should the court decide; adopt the child. You will also be involved with supporting our carers throughout this challenging but rewarding time; from when the child is first placed up until an adoption order is granted. We will need you to have experience in completing assessments and a good knowledge of adoption work with an interest in early permanence work. Experience of fostering social work, with a good knowledge and understanding of the relevant social work theories needed in supporting carers to care for a young child who has had adverse and traumatic early experiences.
Within this role, you will have excellent assessment skills, an ability to work with parents and children who may be in distress and an understanding of the complex needs of adopted children and families and their journey to adoption. This is an exciting time in Adoption Partnership, as we are building new teams and striving to provide an excellent service to our families.
We are looking for someone with a degree in Social Work, CQSW, DipSW or equivalent; you will have an understanding of adoption issues, be willing to learn and a commitment to delivering excellent outcomes for children and young people. In addition to your experience of supporting families, report writing and meeting deadlines you must be able to multi-task and have excellent organisational skills, work independently as well as part of a team with a positive performance culture. Above all, you will be child focused.
