Site Visit Assistant

Role Responsibility

The Gypsy Roma Traveller (GRT) Residents Service is a small team within KCC which provides accommodation designated for GRT communities across the County. We currently manage seven residential sites providing approximately 130 pitches for families across Kent, and have a small team dedicated to providing an excellent landlord and liaison service to our residents.  

We have a rare and exciting opportunity for highly motivated individual to join our Service, to provide maternity cover. This role will be 2 days per week. 

We are looking for someone who is dynamic and passionate about providing excellent service to our residents, supporting our frontline team as a Site Visit Assistant and to support the team with office tasks. 

You will ideally have an understanding of the challenges faced by GRT Communities and with managing accommodation. You will be visiting sites on a regular basis for routine and reactive visits, and liaising with residents, and KCC teams to provide support to the frontline team members. During visits you will be required to maintain accurate records of discussions and you will be responsible for gathering water readings on a monthly basis, followed by entering data onto established systems to complete the process.

You will have strong communication and people skills, and experience of working with a diverse range of people and in challenging situations are critical in this role. This is a very rewarding and interesting frontline role, where you will be part of a highly motivated dedicated team that is always looking to provide the best service possible, within set limits.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
