Shared Lives Worker

Role Responsibility

Shared Lives is looking for a Shared Lives Worker to join our friendly team,  working across the county of Kent.  

Shared Lives is a Care Quality Commission registered service that recruits, approves and monitors Hosts and their families who provide placements for individuals from aged 16 in the Hosts home. The placements can be for Long term, short breaks, day support and transition.

The service currently supports over 200 individuals in Shared Lives placements across Kent and is increasing the capacity of Carers so more people can benefit from this great service.

The Shared Lives Worker post will be about providing the monitoring and support to existing carers and assist with their development.  You will also provide support to the Shared Lives Assistant Officer and Officers with tasks around approval and matching new placements to vacant Carers.

We are looking for applicants that:

  • Have a good basic education & attendance on internal or external courses.
  • Hold a Diploma/NVQ 2 in Health & Social Care (Adults) or equivalent.  
  • Good report writing skills and ability to communicate clearly in writing.
  • Ability to prioritise and to work effectively on own initiative as well as part of a team and meet deadlines.
  • A working knowledge of social work/care management theories, and the needs of those using social care services who may be vulnerable.

The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. A computer exercise, questions and discussions will be a part of the interview process..
