Service Manager

Role Responsibility

We are delighted to be offering an exciting opportunity for the role of Service Manager working within Adoption Partnership South East. 

We are a partnership between the London Borough of Bexley, Kent County Council and Medway County Council. We are an established Regional Adoption Agency and provide high-quality adoption services across the region, with a clear vision of securing good outcomes for children, adopters and those affected by adoption. We are innovative and focus on developing our staff to improve our practice and service delivery. We work closely with the national adoption strategy team and we are involved in several national workstreams relating to adoption.

The post holder will manage four teams in the pre-order side of the service. These are a panel team, an early permanence team and two recruitment and assessment teams. 
The role reports to the Head of Adoption Partnership South East and the post holder will have an office base within Kent, alongside the option of some hybrid working. The ability to travel to Bexley and Medway offices is essential.

Candidates must have experience of working within local authority children in care and adoption services and have management experience. The role may involve liaison with the judiciary and other multi-agency teams.
A positive and a collaborative approach is essential.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service and to registration as a qualified Social Worker with Social Work England.

As part of the interview process for this role you will be required to complete an interview with care experienced young people. As part of the interview process for this role you may be required to complete additional testing. Interviews will be held on 5th May 2023 in Maidstone, Kent.
