Senior Streetworks Inspector

Role Responsibility

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Highway Operations Team as a Senior Streetworks Inspector.

This is a key leadership role where you’ll help shape the future of Kent’s highways by ensuring roadworks are safe, compliant, and well-managed. You’ll be supporting a dedicated team of inspectors, coordinating responses to high-profile works, and working closely with contractors, utility companies, and internal teams to keep Kent moving.

If you’re passionate about highways, enjoy working outdoors, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this could be the perfect next step in your career.

You’ll need to bring:

• A Street Works Supervisor accreditation
• Experience in highways or local government
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• A good understanding of streetworks legislation (NRSWA, Traffic Management Act, Highways Act)

The ability to travel across a wide geographical area in a timely and flexible manner is essential.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
