Senior Residential Worker

Role Responsibility

An exciting new opportunity in Kent County Council has arisen to join the team working in The Nest, which is a small 3 bedded residential unit offering support to individuals aged 11-18 with behaviors that challenge. The unit offers that support in a time limited assessment period, to stabilise the situation and work with families and professionals to create PBS strategies, to allow the person to return home successfully.

You will need to have a Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People or above.

You will work as part of a team supporting individuals and contributing to support plans, which can effect changes to behavior.

You will support a shift pattern, which includes alternate weekends and sleep-in duties.

You will have experience of supporting individuals with challenging behaviors or experience of positive behavioral programming.

You will have experience of working with learning disabled adults or children.

Interviews will be conducted under the ‘Choosing with Care’ assessment process.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
