Senior Practitioner Part-time – Front Door Service (KR11)
We are currently looking to recruit a part-time Senior Practitioner to join the Front Door Service. The post is for 3 days per week working Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. You will work in one of our busy teams receiving Requests for Support/new referrals, supporting and providing advice and/or guidance to the other team members, gathering further information on cases and making enquiries as necessary to determine the correct level of support required for children, young people and their families.
You will hold a degree in social work, CQSW, DipSW or equivalent and will have a variety of post-qualification experience of working within Children’s Services. You will provide support to the Team Manager, have the ability to deputise in the Managers absence as well as Chairing Strategy Meetings and work through complex cases in a calm and efficient manner within a pressured environment. It will be essential therefore to have excellent communication and literacy skills.
You will work within a duty rota system with your other team members, utilising core social work skills in assessing risk and providing clear analysis.
This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring service and registration as a qualified Social Worker with Social Work England.
