Senior Practitioner - Promoting and Supporting Independence WKN

The post is based in the West Kent North area and we are looking for a motivated, experienced professional who is interested in a role which focuses on working both within the Promoting and Supporting Independence teams and collaboratively with health and other partnership agencies and focuses on promoting a person’s independence. The successful applicant also needs to be flexible in their approach and committed to working in an integrated team and ready to embrace new ways of working, to help further shape our services. 

As a senior practitioner within the Promoting and Supporting Independence team you will be providing a practice and supervisory service to both registered and non-registered staff within the team ensuring effective safe practice and adherence to the operating framework for OPPD clients and related policies, procedures and practice guidance.

You will work with local social care and health systems, leading close working with service providers to support clients to work towards their independence and wellbeing goals and ensure that a strengths based approach and proportionate assessment is undertaken to inform care and support planning, to enable people to meet desired outcomes, identified needs and maintain wellbeing.

The ability to travel across a wide geographical area in a timely and flexible
manner at various times of the day is essential. You should note that public
transport is rarely a viable option as some rural areas of Kent often have limited
public transport.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council
therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to
ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for
the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are
set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring service and registration as a qualified Social Worker with Social Work England.

This post is based at the local office for the West Kent North area, The Shepway Centre, Oxford Road, Maidstone.
