Senior Practitioner - Margate Social Work Team

Role Responsibility

This vacancy is for a Senior Practitioner role which covers the Margate and some surrounding areas in Thanet. 

As a Senior Practitioner, you will be required to work with children, with varying needs, some of which are complex. You will need to evidence a high standard of assessment, planning and implementation of resources for children to safeguard and promote their welfare. You will need to provide high quality professional social work knowledge and expertise to a team of Social Workers, which will include facilitating case progression meetings, supporting others in Court and review of social work practice within the Margate Service, to assist the team in ensuring that it carries out its core tasks to a high standard.  You  must be registered with Social Work England.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring service and registration as a qualified Social Worker with Social Work England.
