Senior Practitioner - Front Door Service
Role Responsibility
An exciting opportunity has come up in the Front Door Service and we are currently seeking to recruit a Full Time Senior Practitioner who will work in one of our busy teams receiving requests for support, new referrals and contacts, gathering further information and making enquiries as necessary to determine the correct level of support required for children, young people and their families.
The role includes supporting Team Managers with triage and assessment of contacts and referrals and the organisation, chairing and recording of strategy discussions many of which are complex and require careful management and consideration of risk.
You will hold a degree in Social Work, CQSW, DipSW or equivalent and will have a variety of post-qualification experience of working within Children’s Services, holding positions at experienced Social Worker level or above. They will provide support to the Team Manager and have the ability to work through complex cases in a calm and efficient manner within a pressured environment. It will be essential therefore to have excellent communication and literacy skills.
You will be working within a duty rota system closely with other team members utilising core social work skills in assessment and analysis underpinned by the Kent Integrated Children's Services Practice Framework .

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
