Senior External Funding Officer

Role Responsibility

An exciting new opportunity has arisen to lead on our new divisions external funding finance model to maximise and enhance the funding available for green initiatives across the Environment and Circular Economy Division. Working across the division this role will explore innovative ways to finance KCC’s environmental programs which underpin Net Zero 2030 and Net Zero 2050.

You will develop the organisational approach to green finance with a clear view linked to risk and opportunity by providing extensive specialist advice, support and expertise to Senior Managers and Members to enable informed decision making.

You will lobby in support of government funding to deliver green initiatives, and support divisional funding bids as and when required.

This full-time role will benefit from hybrid working options with a mixture of working from the office and from home. The office base will be Invicta House, Maidstone. 

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
