Senior Early Help Worker

Role Responsibility

In Kent we’re transforming the way we provide services for children, young people and families.  To do this, we provide a full range of open access and targeted responses to the needs of children, young people and families through our Children’s Centres and Youth Hubs.

 

Our Vision is that every child and young person, from pre-birth to age 25, and their family, who needs early help services will receive them in a timely and responsive way, so that they are safeguarded, their educational, social and emotional needs are met and outcomes are good, and they are able to contribute positively to their communities now and in the future, including their active engagement in learning and employment.

 

To ensure that those who need more intensive support receive it in a timely and responsive way, we have developed a new model that balances intensive casework support with the power of open access provision

We’re looking for a motivated team member to work as a Senior Early Help worker within Open Access Children’s Centres across the district of Swale.

You would be expected to support families open to Early Help, providing a high quality, effective and responsive service for children, young people and their families. You will provide management support to a small staff team on behalf of the Children’s Centre Delivery Manager as appropriate

 

If you have experience of providing intervention for families, we’d like to hear from you. You will need to be an excellent team player; able to engage young people and families, You are required to have a sound knowledge of early years theory and practice, in addition to exceptional communication skills, both verbally and in writing. An understanding of good parenting strategies and safeguarding levels is imperative.  You will be flexible and creative in your approach and committed to developing new ways of working. You will be willing to learn, working collaboratively to innovate and find new solutions, taking personal and professional responsibility for your actions and performance.

 

The ability to travel across a wide geographical area in a timely and flexible manner at various times of the day is essential.

 

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
