Senior Early Help Worker - Youth Justice (YJ Unit)

Role Responsibility

The purpose of the role is to operate as a Senior Early Help Worker – Youth Justice within a Youth Justice Unit operating across an area of Kent, delivering Youth Justice interventions and targeted support to vulnerable children, young people and their families.

As a member of a multi-agency service, you will work in partnership to undertake assessment of and direct work with young people and their families with a range of needs in order to reduce the risk of them offending, in accordance with the agreed intervention plans and in the context of managing their risk of harm to others and vulnerability issues.

You will be responsible for the development and delivery of programmes. You will also provide management support, including some line management duties on behalf of the Youth Justice Team Leader, as appropriate.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
