The role of a Youth Senior Early Help Worker is to be part of a team that provides help and guidance to young people and their families. This includes casework, group work planning and delivery, and leading evening and weekend youth sessions.
Youth Work is the key part of Kent’s Early Help offer, with friendly and supportive environments which offer a wide range of sessions, activities and events to help develop and support young people and families in their lives and in their local communities, these include: music, art, sports, personal development and much more.
The role will require you to plan, deliver and evaluate targeted group work, manage an additional support caseload, lead on our NEET work and manage a team of part-time sessional workers. You will work to provide an environment that is welcoming and supportive to all young people who engage with our service.
You will hold a professional qualification in Youth Work, Social Care, Childcare, Health, Teaching or a Diploma in probation studies, In exceptional circumstances a relevant academic degree with experience in working with Children and Young People may be considered.
This post, alongside creativity and good communication, requires flexibility, innovative thinking, and good organisation skills. You will have extensive experience of working within a youth work, social care, education or youth justice setting and have line management experience.
