Senior Digital Content Officer

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Role Responsibility

Do you have the skills to inform and engage people in Kent about the social care and wellbeing support they can access to empower themselves or other they care for?

Can you listen to others, put yourself in someone’s shoes and create effective, clear, jargon-free digital communications? Can you help to make a difference and put people at the centre of what you do?

If this describes you, then you could be the person we are looking for. We are looking for a communication all-rounder, someone as comfortable writing and editing as they are working with content management systems to create web pages, embed charts, images and publish other content. You will need a good eye for design, enabling you to create engaging and shareable graphics and link in with key colleagues across the directorate and wider community to increase reach and effectiveness of the digital platforms you will cover.

We are seeking a dedicated digital communication professional to work on the various aspects of our ‘digital front door’. This role will be part of the Stakeholder Engagement team that works across the whole Adult Social Care and Health directorate to improve participation and communications both internally and externally. However, the role will have the opportunity to work with multiple stakeholders across the department and link in with the council’s wider digital services team.

These are hands-on roles, and every day will be different, so if you enjoy the buzz of working with a multiskilled programme team both virtually and in-person, this role will suit you well. If you have experience of the following activities, then please apply:

  • responsibility for public content across digital platforms
  • managing a contract with key suppliers
  • producing clear, concise communications for a range of audiences
  • driving engagement to meet equality, diversity and inclusion objectives across multiple channels
  • working closely in partnership with a variety of stakeholder groups
  • creating campaigns that drive meaningful change.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

This post is subject to a Basic Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
