Senior Advisor - Control

Role Responsibility

KCC is looking for a KR10 Senior Advisor to work within the Financial Operations Service of KCC Finance Division. Please note that the the primary location of the role is Sessions House, Maidstone, with the possibility of office working in Maidstone and home working. The position is permanent, full time (37 hours per week, Monday-Friday).  The vacancy is further to the restructure of the accounts administration service, whereby services will be undertaken in-house by KCC from 1st December 2022.

As a Senior Advisor you will be responsible for coordinating a team of staff focusing on Control (of Accounts Administration services).  Please note that the grade and job description for this vacancy is the same as the other Senior Advisors within this department (Senior Advisor - Accounts Payable &  Senior Advisor - Accounts Receivable), and some interchanging of responsibilities may occur.

The post holder will assist in the delivery of accounts administration, ensuring high levels of customer service and timely delivery. The post holder will coordinate staff activity, ensuring training and development needs are met. The post holder will have extensive experience of working in a financial setting (such as banking, or local government finance), and will have knowledge of Oracle or a similar administration system. The post holders will have experience of developing, implementing and reviewing procedures, and adopting the principles of continuous improvement. As such, they must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships.

Interviews to be via MS Teams video call, January 2023. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to prepare a short presentation on a specific scenario related to the role. The scenario question will be given to shortlisted candidates a week in advance, for them to deliver on the day of the interview.
