Senior Advisor (Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable)

Role Responsibility

We are pleased to announce three opportunities within Kent County Council (KCC) Finance division, all of which relate to Accounts Administration (Exchequer Services). The three opportunities are:

- KR11 Accounts Administration Manager - one vacancy

- KR10 Senior Advisor (Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable) - two vacancies; one with a focus on Accounts Payable, one with a focus on Accounts Receivable

This advert is for two KR10 Senior Advisors. Please see separate entry on the KCC jobs website for information about the other opportunity.

KCC is looking for two KR10 Senior Advisors to work within the Financial Operations Service of KCC Finance Division. Please note that the primary location of the role is Sessions House, Maidstone, with the possibility of office working in Maidstone and home working. Both Senior Advisor positions are permanent, full time (37 hours per week).  The vacancies are further to the restructure of the accounts administration service, whereby services will be undertaken in-house by KCC from 1st December 2022. Each Senior Advisor appointed will be responsible for coordinating a team of staff focusing on either Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable; however, due to the similar nature of these Senior Advisor roles, the job description for both vacancies is the same and some interchanging of responsibilities may occur.

 

You will assist in the delivery of accounts administration, ensuring high levels of customer service and timely delivery. You will coordinate staff activity, ensuring training and development needs are met. You will have extensive experience of working in a financial setting and will have knowledge of Oracle or a similar administration system. You will have experience of developing, implementing and reviewing procedures, and adopting the principles of continuous improvement. As such, they must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships.

The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

The closing date for applications is Monday 31st October 2022.

Interviews to be via MS Teams video call, November 2022. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to prepare a short presentation on a specific scenario related to the role. The scenario question will be given to shortlisted candidates a week in advance, for them to deliver on the day of the interview.
