Senior Administration Officer

Role Responsibility

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Administration Officer to join the Countywide Business Support Team, supporting the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) Team, on a temporary contract covering an internal secondment.

The DoLS team provide a Countywide service for people who are deprived of their liberty in a care home or hospital.

The Senior Administration Officer will direct, supervise, and support a team of business support staff on a daily basis, provide a high-quality comprehensive business support service and work alongside the Service Manager, Team Managers and BIA Assessors to assist in the smooth running of the service.

In addition to the above, you will be expected to promote new ways of working and develop processes, systems, and knowledge within the Business Support Team.

The main duties and responsibilities are:

  • Supervise, performance manage & develop a team of Administration Officers.
  • Oversee the recruitment of all new staff coming into the teams and assist with the preparation of inductions.
  • Produce and interpret various operational reports for Senior Management to assist with decision making.

This is a busy, fast paced team and applicants will need to demonstrate resilience, and problem solving skills, along with sound professional judgement when making decisions. 

You must have excellent organisation and communication skills and be able to proactively manage your workload, whilst supporting the management of workload across the wider team. You will have experience of line management, strong administrative and IT skills, and the ability to collate and manage data. 

You will also need to demonstrate a confident manner in liaising with senior managers, professionals, and organisations, as well as acting as an escalation point for queries or issues which are often urgent.

Contractual base is either Kroner House, Ashford or Invicta House, Maidstone with hybrid working supported.

The successful candidate must be able to travel on occasions, as meetings and training are held at different sites across the County.

This role is subject to holding a Full UK Driving Licence – The Council is committed to making reasonable adjustments so whilst this job requires the jobholder to drive your application will still be considered if you are unable to drive due to a disability.
