School Liaison Officer
Role Responsibility
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the PRU, Inclusion and Attendance Service (PIAS). We make a difference to the attainment, wellbeing, and wider life chances of children and young people in Kent by improving attendance at school.
You will be joining a friendly team who work in a multi-agency context and take a solution focused approach when dealing with complex and challenging situations.
As a School Liaison Officer, you will provide specialist advice and guidance to schools, parents and partners. This requires the ability to communicate effectively with parents/carers, young people and school staff, including headteachers.
We are looking for a practitioner who has experience holding challenging conversations and finding positive outcomes. There are occasions when legal intervention is pursued against parents who fail to secure their child’s regular attendance at school. A high standard of report writing, with attention to detail, whilst meeting tight deadlines, is therefore essential.
This role will require visiting schools, family homes and other locations as required.

Please note – if you are interested, please apply as soon as possible as the closing date for this advert may be earlier than stated should a number of suitably qualified candidates apply.
