Sales Team Manager

Role Responsibility

An opportunity has arisen within Community Learning and Skills (CLS) for a Sales Team Manager. You will be a clear and articulate communicator both face to face and on the phone, have effective IT skills and be able to build relationships with both internal and external customers.

This role is responsible for building and promoting profitable, sustainable revenues from existing customers and for developing relationships and revenues with new/existing customers including corporate sector across a broad product portfolio.

You will be able to maintain and grow yields through a value-based selling strategy; whilst developing strong working relationships with existing customers and ensure their needs are always met, with a view to improving customer participation, satisfaction, and loyalty.

The role will lead in partnership working, both internal and external to KCC, to maximise business development opportunities and grow the customer base within the context of a strategic framework of priorities. You will be able to identify, agree and manage the CLS Partnership/Sales Team activities to ensure the stakeholder and business objectives are met.

You will need to demonstrate that you understand, and can develop and deploy sales strategies and territory initiatives using competitor analysis, customer insights and data.

This is a busy but friendly team driven by tight deadlines. You should have a good knowledge of B2B sales principles, and experience of managing multi-faceted key accounts across a wide and varied range of industry sectors. You will be able to work on your own initiative, as well as part of the team.

You will also act as the liaison and co-ordinator with colleagues in CLS, Kent County Council and external partners to facilitate effective communication within the sales team.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
