SEND Therapies Case Coordinator

Role Responsibility

The KCC SEN Therapies Service is looking for a Case Coordinator to join a busy and dynamic team. The role requires collaborative working with parents, schools, settings and SEND service colleagues to establish, implement and maintain additional therapy arrangements for children and young people with SEND. This includes extracting the requirements of provision as set out in the Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and professional reports.  

The role also includes outcomes focused approaches to monitoring and quality evaluation of existing arrangements. This involves working with colleagues and partner providers to monitor progress of the children and young people.

The post holder is required to maintain administrative processes for specialist case coordination. This is required in relation to the whole scope of the SEN therapies team input and communications. The work may involve collaboration with a range of SEND service colleagues across all areas of Kent. Co-production with stakeholders is vital to enhance joint commissioning of therapy services at a county level. This includes using solutions focused approach for provision advice, sourcing therapy arrangements and budget focused systems.

We are looking for someone to join a growing team, who will bring motivation and help contribute to the development within the team. This needs to be someone who is well organised, an excellent communicator and confident with IT. Has an interest or previous experience in working in health, social care and/or education and will be able to build and maintain strong professional relationships.

The SEN Therapies Service comprises of Leads for Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy and a Specialist Teacher. The Case Coordinator will work with the SEN Therapies Leads on case related work and other projects being undertaken by SEN Therapies and the wider SEN department.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

The post will be based at The Old Railway School in Ashford and on occasion, will be able to travel across Kent.
