SEND Quality Assurance & Practice Development Officer

Role Responsibility

An opportunity has arisen for motivated and committed SEND Quality Assurance and Practice Development Officers to join our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) service.

In this newly created role, you will support the SEND Quality Assurance and Practice Development Manager to ensure the SEND service is discharging the Local Authorities statutory duties and are fully compliant to the legislative framework in relation to the statutory assessment process.  The post holder will support this by carrying out audits of the service to ensure that a high-quality service is delivered to children, young people, and their families, identifying and addressing areas for improvement.

You will need to have experience of writing and quality assuring EHC Plans, experience of analysing data and information to provide clear reports on patterns, trends and support strategic planning as well as experience of improving the quality of service, processes, and performance. You must also have extensive knowledge of SEN Law and the legal framework of SEN legislation and its application within the context of Kent.

This post is considered by Kent County Council to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person.
