SEND Enquirers Officer
Role Responsibility
An opportunity has arisen for motivated and committed SEND Enquiries Officers to join our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) service.
In this newly created role, you will be the first point of contact within the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) service for parents and carers, Integrated Children's Services (ICS), Education settings, and our multi-agency partners. This will specifically include monitoring and overseeing the timely, accurate and efficient response to requests for advice and information from the SEND service into the ICS Front Door, in relation to early help or social work involvement.
You will be expected to respond to emails, calls and requests for Statutory Assessments promptly and accurately and track responses to all incoming enquiries to ensure they are responded to and resolved in a timely way.
You will need to have some experience of working in a public, private or voluntary sector and a good understanding of current SEN legislation and its application within the context of Kent.
This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
This post is subject to a Basic Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
Location will be Kroner House for the first 3 months and then hybrid working.
