SEN Tribunal Clerical Assistant

Role Responsibility

The Kent SEND Tribunal Team are looking for a Clerical Assistant to join their team. The Clerical Assistant will provide support to enable the team to fulfil their statutory function in relation to appeals to the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities' Tribunal (SENDT).

You role covers the following duties:-

- Provide general clerical / administrative support to the team and assist with maintaining the office filing systems, both paper and electronic and undertake filing as required.

- Undertake photocopying and other duties related to the efficient and timely production and distribution of paperwork, provide general support to the Tribunal Assistant and undertake any other duties appropriate to the needs of the team.

- Register new appeals and distribute to area SEN teams in a timely manner and create paper and electronic files.

- Ensure adequate provision of office stationery. 

- Respond to incoming telephone calls to the department ensuring appropriate signposting to the relevant team member.

- Assist with maintaining the office filing system and databases and undertake filing as required.  Bring any issues affecting quality of the system to the attention of the Tribunal Assistant.

- Process invoices and set up suppliers for payment.

- Ensure documentation for deadlines is prepared and distributed within given timescales.
