SEN Senior Tribunal Officer

Role Responsibility

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an SEN Senior Tribunal Officer in the SEN Tribunal Team. You will be joining a team with multiple priorities where work needs to be carried out efficiently, precisely and at a fast pace.

You will be required to provide a comprehensive, coordinated and efficient response to the centralised SEND Tribunal and to represent KCC at SEND Tribunal hearings. You will look to resolve cases at the earliest opportunity through proactive case management following panel decisions. This will involve evidence gathering, the drafting of responses and responding to judicial orders.

As part of a team, the postholder must provide regular support to Tribunal Officers. This includes providing training, support and mentoring to team members.

This post is subject to a Basic Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
