Road Safety Intelligence and Innovations Support Officer

Role Responsibility

A unique opportunity has arisen for a Road Safety Intelligence and Innovations Support Officer to work within the Road Safety & Active Travel Group (RSATG).

This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual that has the knowledge, understanding and passion to make analysis and data available and accessible for the wider team to assist in the County’s Vision Zero Road Safety Strategy.

Key aspects of the role will be working closely with the Road Safety Intelligence and Innovations Team Leader, Analyst and the wider RSATG to supply access and intelligence of road safety and transport datasets.

You will work with a wide range of partners and stakeholders within the road safety arena with particular focus working in support of the Safer Road Partnership of Kent & Medway. You will be involved with supporting the team working on casualty data (including cleansing and analysis), traffic data, network risk data in addition to processing ad-hoc requests within this field.  You will work with colleagues in relation to Safety Performance Indicators in line with the Safe Systems Vision Zero principles and also our safer roads, junctions and cluster site programmes.

You must be well organised, numerate, attentive to detail and have excellent IT skills as well as having excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will have experience of obtaining and analysing data.

You need to be flexible, adaptable, enjoy working in a team, be able to manage competing demands by careful prioritisation and switch between tasks. You also need to be able to work on your own initiative with minimum supervision.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
