Road Safety Intelligence & Innovation Analyst

Role Responsibility

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, skilled and flexible person to join KCC’s Road Safety Intelligence and Innovations team.  The team responsible for providing intelligence to inform, support and review projects delivered by the wider Road Safety and Active Travel Group. The team will also lead on identifying and delivering new datasets, tools or products that enhance the way KCC identify risk and prioritise road safety interventions. You will be vital to the work of the team in undertaking analysis of a range of traffic related datasets and working to develop new datasets and analysis tools to assist the wider team with decision making and support the implementation of the ‘Safe Systems’ approach to road safety.

This post is ideal for an individual who wants to develop their abilities and use their skills - particularly to improve the way in which transport data (such as collision data, traffic information and asset information) is captured, analysed, presented and accessed by the wider team.

You will enjoy working with data and data systems and will be an enthusiastic, proactive and forward-thinking individual willing to evolve the way we use intelligence in road safety. The post will suit an analyst, numerate researcher, data scientist or officer with experience in monitoring and evaluation. Excellent Excel, analytical, report writing and communication skills are essential and you may have experience in the use of GIS.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
