Risk and Delivery Assurance Officer

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Role Responsibility

An opportunity has arisen to join the Council’s Risk and Delivery Assurance Team, working at the heart of the organisation to continuously develop and improve KCC’s risk management framework, ensuring it remains fit for purpose and an integral part of the council’s governance and decision-making arrangements in an increasingly challenging environment.

The role will involve working closely with services and senior managers across directorates, providing advice, support, guidance and quality assurance in matters relating to risk management from strategic, operational and change perspectives.  You will be a key advisor and ‘critical friend’, contributing to assurance reviews of significant activities (including key projects), providing constructive, valued feedback and highlighting areas that present risk to successful delivery.

Sound knowledge and experience of risk management processes and techniques are required (from strategic, operational and / or project perspectives), although most important is a proactive, inquisitive and diplomatic approach, as well as the ability to effectively engage and communicate with managers, show understanding of their service environment and build strong relationships in the process.
