Risk Manager
Role Responsibility
An opportunity has arisen for a Risk Manager to join the Corporate Risk Management function in the Strategy, Policy, Relationships and Corporate Assurance division. It is an exciting time to join this strategic Risk function, as it looks to shape and lead further developments in risk maturity across the organisation, ensuring that risk management remains an effective and integral part of the Council’s governance and decision-making arrangements.
This varied and challenging role will involve continual horizon scanning of the risk environment, both external and internal to KCC; developing a deep understanding of key organisational risks, their complexities and interdependencies with partners and providers; correlating various sources of risk intelligence and assurance in collaboration with colleagues across the Council; developing and delivering risk management training and development activity; and supporting appropriate alignment with performance management and delivery assurance processes across the Council.
You will be expected to quickly become a trusted advisor to senior managers and elected Members of the council, including the Corporate Management Team and Cabinet Members. Excellent relationship management, communication and influencing skills are essential, as well as a proactive nature and analytical mind.
