Rights of Way Improvement Plan Officer - Projects and Programme Delivery

Role Responsibility

Do you want to help shape the future Rights of Way and access provision in Kent? Are you looking to progress your career in public rights of way and access management or to apply planning or project management skills in a new field?  

 

The Public Rights of Way and Access Service is responsible for the recording, protection, maintenance and improvement of Kent’s 7000 km of footpaths, bridleways and byways. The network provides unparalleled access to Kent’s countryside and is vital in supporting the rural economy, tourism and health as well as access to amenities and services.

 

Your focus will be on ensuring Rights of Way Improvement Plan targets and multi-agency access initiatives are delivered across the County. Working in a fast-paced environment you will lead on the implementation of numerous public rights of way (PROW) and countryside access initiatives some of which will involve partners and stakeholders.

 

You will be outcome focussed delivering schemes often within tight timescales, including the bidding for and securing of external funding/ grants and non-financial assistance from partners.

 

You will think strategically and be able to deliver locally. Working closely with planners and developers you will help shape plans and respond to consultations to secure links from new development to existing access in the growth areas.

 

You will have proven experience of working within Public Rights of Way, planning or project delivery. You will be able to display excellent organisation and communication skills and be able to prioritise and manage your time effectively. You will have excellent IT skills.

 

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
