Research and Analytics Manager – Continuous Improvement

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Role Responsibility

Do you want to lead operational improvement projects that will make a difference to the lives of Kent’s residents and particularly to the most vulnerable in society?

This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a highly skilled, proactive individual with strong analytical skills and experience leading process improvement or business transformation projects.

Working as part of the wider, multi-disciplinary Analytics management team, you will lead a small but highly effective Continuous Improvement Team. The purpose of this team is to support services across the council to improve the way they operate, in line with the council’s key priorities and goals. The Continuous Improvement Team sits within KCC’s central Analytics function, meaning you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively alongside experts in data analysis, research and evaluation.

We are looking for someone with the broad range of skills that will enable them to guide the team in:

  • Prioritising what projects to take on, in line with the council’s priorities
  • Defining and scoping projects with internal clients
  • Understanding and analysing processes and systems
  • Identifying and fiercely prioritising areas for improvement
  • Developing effective solutions in these areas
  • Implementing changes within a service and ensuring improvements are embedded and sustained
  • Evidencing the impact of changes

You will have the tenacity and persuasiveness to drive through solutions to problems that others have been unable to overcome. You will have a flair for working with clients to scope and lead projects – confident in communicating and engaging at all levels. You should be flexible, analytical and solution-focused in your approach and confident in your use of appropriate analytical and improvement methodologies.

You will be passionate about using your specialist skills, and those of the people around you, to make a positive difference: ensuring the impact of the team’s work is evidenced.

Excellent facilitation, presentation, communication and relationship-building skills are essential.

As an employee of Kent County Council, you will receive training suitable to the role and to support your development, along with excellent benefits, including 30 days’ annual leave, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme and flexible working.

This post is subject to a Basic Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

As part of the interview process for this role you may be required to complete additional testing.
