Role Responsibility

Registered Manager

The Nest, Ashford, Kent

Starting salary £43,216 (KR11) | Permanent full time

The Nest is an exciting new service in Ashford, Kent, that is designed to support children and young people who are at risk of secure hospital admission and prevent them going into these types of provision – the service may also support young people stepping down from this type of provision, to aid a faster discharge.

The team will support children and young people and their families, working within the Learning Disability and Autism (LDA) pathway with a range of multi-agency partners, including the Designated Keyworker Programme for children and young people within the LDA, to support the children and young people in a person centred and time limited way with tailored specialist support to help them stabilise, and then to thrive.

We want an exceptional manager to lead and manage The Nest in its support to children and young people aged up to 18 years in line with the Care Standards Act 2000, Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards. The Nest has capacity to deliver bespoke interventions for up to 3 children and young people, however due to compatibility and support needs, we anticipate there would normally be a maximum of up to 2 young people at any one time.

We are looking for an exceptional candidate who can lead and inspire the Nest team to provide the most child centred, nurturing support to the children and young people of Kent who access the Nest, and work closely their families/support networks. We want someone who is flexible and solution focussed within their role, has an excellent understanding of regulatory expectations and children’s service provision, and is very visible and hands on in their leadership style.

In return you will be supported with regular supervision, bespoke training and ongoing clinical supervision in relation to the role, including the Solihull Model, and PBS methodologies, and a starting salary of £43,216, rising to £49,323 through KCC’s annual TCP process.

Interviews will be conducted in line with the ‘Choosing with Care’ process.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

This is a fantastic opportunity to support young people within, and supported by, the wider LDA pathway, and lead an amazing service focused on enhancing the lives of children young people in Kent.
